| Background | Ki67 is a nuclear protein that is expressed in proliferating cells. Ki-67 can detect proliferating cells in the G1, S, G2 and mitotic phases, but not in the G0 resting phase. Studies have confirmed that high levels of Ki-67 are associated with worse breast cancer survival (3). Research has explored the use of Ki-67, along with other markers, as a potential prognostic or predictive marker in breast cancer and other malignant diseases. |
